Cassidy Jane is a graduate of the acting and modeling programs here at The Maile School. She is the schools Social Media Director as well as managing the front office. She has modeled for clients such as Seminole Towne Center Mall, Kennedy Space Center, and the PGA show to name a few. Cassidy also assists with The Malie School’s outside events such as fashion shows, trade shows, school events and expos.

Maile grad Germaine Brooks

Maile School acting graduate Germaine Brooks grew up mostly in Orlando but all of his family is from Jacksonville and Duval County. As a kid he started his acting career and began building his resume doing TV commercials for various local outlets and appearing on the popular kids and teens network Nickelodeon.

In his teens Germaine became more involved in the music side of entertainment business launching his own recording label at the age of 18 years old.

After many successful releases he began to focus again on acting and script writing. His return in the dramatic arts landed him many television and film roles.  He booked a role on the television show titled Fatal Attraction and in the feature film titled Lila and Eve starring with Jennifer Lopez and Viola Davis.

Germaine has been featured in the Hollywood Reporter and various entertainment blogs. Lila and Eve was featured in the Sundance Film festival and received rave reviews.

Germaine’s most recent film project is titled The Turnaround which is an inspirational Urban drama. The morning of the premiere he was a featured celebrity guest on the Fox morning show Good Day Live here in Orlando. His other film is a romantic comedy titled When Love Happens Again. Both films show his versatile skills, range and ability to appeal to different cultures and demographics.

tony-robinette-fresh-off-the-bostHey everybody be sure to watch and support Maile School’s acting and advanced acting graduate Tony Robinette on ABC’s hit show Fresh Off The Boat this Tuesday, December 13th at 9pm.

Tony is an actor and has been in the industry for over 15 years. He made the big move to Los Angeles California a few years ago and has not stopped. He has done very well for himself working, auditioning and building a very impressive resume.

Tony is has landed roles in How I Met Your Mother (2013), starring Neil Patrick Harris,  the feature film Spring Breakers (2012), that starred James Franco, Vanessa Hudgens and Selena Gomez, Robo-Dog (2015), as the role of Jerome that was filmed right here in Central Florida and most recently in the comedy The Best Thanksgiving Ever (2016).

His other industry credits include All State Insurance, Wendys, Universal Studios, Hungry Howies, Honda, Aflac, a Disney pilot titled Growing Up and Down starring Raina Rodrigues from Austin and Ally to name a few.

Improvisation is the art of composing, uttering, executing or arranging anything without previous preparation, in the moment.

Learning Improv and Improvisational games can be a very useful tool in your acting, auditioning, public speaking or as a means of overcoming shyness.

Influential, motivating, magnetic personality, brilliant smile with a various appetite for his craft. That’s how we describe Maile School’s adult acting graduate Bryan Dawson Brown. This Floridian is home grown and proud of it. Bryan graduated from Florida A & M University with a degree in Broadcast Journalism. It was at FAMU that he was smitten with the acting bug. Although his course work permitted him to view the world from all camera angles, his heart is in the front of the camera and the camera certainly loves his face. After graduating from college Bryan decided to enroll and attend classes here at The Maile School to hone his skills and upon completing the program he went full force into the business.

Some of his career accomplishments and bookings on his resume are feature films, short films, music videos, web series as well as national and local commercials. He has landed work for clients such as Tires Plus, Florida Lottery, Disney, ChallengeMyRate.com, Shipsticks, Brighthouse, Trojan, Nissan, and Insight Credit Union to name a few.

Bryan enjoys golfing, running, basketball, baseball and football as well as volunteering for Younglife non-profit organization.

Bryan’s future goals are to relocate to the Atlanta area so he can further sharpen and pursue his acting career goals and book jobs in all facets of the industry.

Meet Instructor Tracy Frenkel

The Maile School is happy to feature acting instructor Tracy Frenkel.

tracy-frenkelTracy grew up in Chicago and at the early age he was entertaining customers at various local restaurants as a close up table magician. He did this until he was sixteen when his family moved to Florida.

While attending high school he was involved in theater and performed in a variety of musical comedies and dinner shows. He attended the University of Florida in Gainesville majoring in theater. After a year there he relocated to Orlando and attended UCF. Tracy graduated with a theater degree and a minor in radio and television communications.

He also performed as a stand up comic then moving on to productions. Tracy relocated to Chicago after receiving a scholarship from The Second City. His film role was as a dockworker in Above the Law (1988) with Steven Segal and Pam Grier. His first speaking role in a film was as a hitman, Briggio, in David Mamet‘s film, Things Change (1988), featuring Don Ameche and Joe Mantegna. In between films in Chicago he coached and performed with several improvisational groups.

Back to Florida he landed a recurring role on the popular Nickelodeon sitcom Welcome Freshmen (1991) that ran for three seasons. He played both the male and female roles of Coach Roche and Rochelle. He booked many commercials as well as industrials. In addition he had a recurring role as a pizza parlor owner on Noah Knows Best (2000). His other resumes credits include Unsolved Mysteries, From the Earth To the Moon (1998), Safe Harbor (1999), and Keenan & Kel(1996).

Tracy has been an adult acting and improv instructor at The Maile School for many years and continues to stay busy not only as an actor but a producer, casting director and of course he is a SAG/AFTRA member.

                 Former police officer turned actor!

michael-santi-maile-schoolMichael Santi is a former police officer turned actor and is represented by Creative Management Group. His very impressive industry resume includes leading roles in several feature films one being “Subprime”. Michael completed two projects, one in Boston for an international made for TV film titled “Oh Brother”, and a highly anticipated action packed feature film titled “King Charles”, which is set for a worldwide release in 2017. Although we can’t say what yet, but be on the lookout for Michael. He was cast as a lead character in a TV series on a popular TV Network portraying a real life detective.

Michael was honored by being mentioned in a press release on the actors website IMDB. He was awarded top honors alongside some of the biggest Male Actor / Action stars. The list included Dwayne Johnson, Tom Hardy and Matthew McConaughey. Michael made the number ten spot as an actor who has the potential of following in the same footsteps as the movie stars listed above. Brooklyn born, and raised in a very strong Italian home, he is very proud of where he comes from. Show business is in Michael’s family as his mother was picked to be the under study to famous child stars Shirley Temple.

Michael says, “The Maile School was the first school outside of the performing arts in college where I found a great support system that allowed me to build the confidence I needed to face my fears in film. Maile School is a great place to build a positive foundation and without that strong foundation, everything else you learn comes crumbling down, I was lucky to find such a positive atmosphere with great instructors”.

Mandy first came out on the scene with her 1999 debut single, “Candy“, which peaked at number 41 on the BillboardHot 100. After signing with Epic Records, she released her first album, So Real and in the year 2000 her single, “I Wanna Be with You“, became her first Top 30 song in the US, peaking at number 24 on the Hot 100 chart.

Outside of her music career, Mandy perused acting and was in films such as Dr. Dolittle 2The Princess Diaries, alongside Anne Hathaway and her first starring role as Jamie Sullivan in the 2002 romantic hit film A Walk to Remember. She also starred in other films, including How to Deal (2003), Chasing Liberty (2004), Saved! (2004) and co-starred in the 2006 comedy American Dreamz.

The following year, Mandy co-starred in the romantic comedies Be cause I Said So and License to Wed. In 2010, she was the voice of Rapunzel in Disney’s animated hit film Tangled, in which she performed the duet “I See the Light” with Zachary Levi; the song won a Grammy for Best Song Written for Visual Media. She later reprised her role in the short film Tangled Ever After, and will do so again on the Disney Channel TV series based on the film in 2017. 

Mandy currently can be seen playing the role of Rebecca on Tuesdays nights in NBC’s popular new show This is Us.  The TV dramedy series is created by Dan Fogelman which and stars Milo VentimigliaSterling K. Former Maile School acting instructor and professional modeling and acting grad Justin Smith is an actor, known for his role on ABC’s hit soap General Hospital as Holt and the feature film Man Down as Stanton. Man Down will premier in theaters December 2nd.

 

Maile School’s President Debbie Wisner says, “Justin was great to have here on our staff. First as a student then as an instructor. He gave a lot to all the students and he just had that ‘it’ factor. We all knew it was a matter of time.

 

 

 

justin-smith-maile-schoolMan Down takes place in post-apocalyptic North America, former U.S. Marine Gabriel Drummer (Shia LaBeouf), searches desperately for the whereabouts of his son, Jonathan, and wife, Natalie (Kate Mara), accompanied by his best friend (Jai Courtney) and a survivor (Clifton Collins, Jr.). Justin landed a lead role the film Silent Fall (2007) where he traveled all the way to Cape Town, South Africa where he spent four months filming throughout Cape Town, and also gained some much appreciated life experience. After returning from South Africa, Justin found himself in New York where he was cast in his first major television role on the CBS soap opera, As The World Turns. This led to other roles on television such as Army Wives (2007), Burn Notice (2007) and The CW’s The Vampire Diaries (2009). He also landed film work in A Good Day to Die Hard (2013) starring Bruce Willis, and the comedy Walk of Shame (2014). Justin was also a host and a popular face on the syndicated morning news and entertainment show The Daily Buzz.
