New York Fashion Week welcomed Maile School grad Elena Logan

New York Fashion Week welcomed Maile School grad Elena Logan

elana-logan-On Wednesday, February 8, the beautiful and talented Elena Logan and family flew to New York City just ahead of a blizzard for the week’s events. Elena booked and walked the catwalk like the pro. She modeled for KK Swimwear and designer Natalia Garcia, based in Miami. KK Swimwear premiered their summer line at Gotham Hall on Broadway. The event was held on Saturday morning, February 11. This was Elena’s first visit to New York and her first blizzard. Both were equally exciting.

Since NY fashion week Elena has become a frequent model for KK Swimwear. She is featured in their online catalog and has had photo shoots in NYC and Cape Canaveral for KK Swimwear and Child Model Magazine. On March 12 Elena was in Atlanta for a fashion shoot with a designer for a Southern fashion magazine and a photographer who was developing her Fashion Book.elana-logan-maile-school

Elena is awesome on the runway and has been cast in upcoming fashion shows as well. On June 17 she will be modeling for Mara Skye Couture, KK Swimwear, and designer Wanda Beauchamp at the Swan and Dolphin Resort for the Child Model Magazine and Fashion Parade. In July she will also walk for various designers in the POSH fashion show held here in Orlando. The fall is looking equally busy, as Elena has been cast in shows for the New York Fashion Week and the Los Angeles Fashion Week.

elana-logan-model-maileElena is a graduate of many programs here at The Maile School including the kids on camera acting program, and Mall at Millenia’s Modeling fashion camp and is currently in our ongoing All Star Performing Troop. We are so proud of Elena and all her industry success and can’t wait to see more!

See what people are saying about The Maile School

From Brook Boltz, a mother of two daughters, graduates of our Kids Acting and Advanced programs:
The Maile school is wonderful. I had tried to learn how to get my kids involved in the acting / modeling industry and was having very little success. The Maile School gave us a roadmap to success in the industry and taught my daughters to be more articulate and confident in their presentation to others. I highly recommend the acting classes for young children.

From Wendy Lantz, Adult Acting grad:
Love The Maile School! They are always there for you as a student and as a former student. Excellent classes and teachers. The atmosphere at the school is always welcoming, friendly and professional!  Their reputation is trustworthy and impeccable! I love Debbie and Debby! You will too!

From Luis Antonio, Adult Acting & Advanced Acting grad:
The Maile School is where I got started as an actor and took my very first class. If you or your child are curious and want to know how to get started in acting and modeling just see the helpful and friendly staff at The Maile School. They also offer a great personal image class to help you or your child to build confidence and self-esteem.

From Tony Triozzi, a father of two, graduates of our Acting and Image programs:
Maile School has been a great experience for both my 10-year old boy and 13-year old daughter.  They have really enjoyed their acting and image classes and have gained confidence that they will use in their everyday lives!

From Toni Storms, Professional Modeling grad:
This school is a great experience for ALL ages! It is a very welcoming atmosphere where you gain important knowledge to get started on your journey. I love it!

Confidence for Teenagers

         news

                          Confidence for Teenagers

confidence-blog-maile-schoolConfidence is related to your self-esteem, which is feeling good about yourself and feeling that you’re a worthwhile person. But having high self-esteem doesn’t mean you always feel confident.

Building confidence in teenagers helps them make safe and informed decisions. Confident teenagers can avoid people and situations that aren’t right for them, and to find those that are.

If a teen is confident, she is more likely to be more friendly, assertive, positive, engaged, enthusiastic and persistent.

For example, a confident teenage girl whose friend is being mean to her might be upset for a little while. But then she might realize that she can come back from the sadness she is feeling and focus more on the positive things she has going on in her life. On the other hand, a girl who feels less confident in herself will be more upset, sad, withdrawn or even feel that it was all her fault.

Teenagers with low self-esteem and confidence are less likely to be involved in activities or try new things. They are more likely to hold back in class, be closed off and might be more willing to give in to peer pressure. When a teen lacks confidence, she might expect to fail at things and not even try at all.

Since 1982 The Maile School has been offering a special Image & Confidence Development program just for teen girls focusing on building self-esteem. The topics covered in this program are first impressions, building confidence, leadership skills, etiquette, skin care, make up, hair design, posture, poise, public speaking, body language, and communication skills. Taught by a variety of industry professionals who teach in their area of expertise.

The program is 10 weeks on Saturday mornings from 10am to 1pm. The next available session is beginning this Saturday January 14th.
