Dr. Hersch graduated from the University of Florida where he attained his B.S. degree and his Dental degree (D.M.D.). He served in the United States Navy Reserve Dental Corps for 4 years of active duty in Washington D.C., Okinawa, Japan, and Orlando. Warren earned an honorary life membership to the United States Navy Band and a Navy Unit Commendation Medal. He has been in private practice since 1985 and enjoys implant restorative and cosmetic dentistry.

Dr. Hersch stays active professionally and is very involved with community events and organizations. He has been attending continuous educational courses to provide his patients with the latest dental technology. Warren has been a member of the West Hernando and Port Orange South Daytona Rotary Clubs (where he served as President), Hernando Health Advisory Board, West Hernando Chamber of Commerce and Pasco Hernando Community College Dental Hygiene Advisory Board Chairman to name a few. He has served as President of the West Pasco Dental Association and he earned Diplomat and Mastership Awards in implant dentistry. Dr. Hersch is a member of “Who’s Who Among Rising Young Americans”, received “Service Above Self” and Merit Awards from the Rotary Club.

Some of Warren’s industry credits include “Dr. G Medical Examiner,” and “Skeleton Stories” on the Discovery Health Channel, a documentary on Eileen Wuornos (as an interrogation officer), commercials including, 3M, J.J. Wentworth, Embry Riddle University, Disney World, Universal Studios, Veterans Administration, Osteo Bi-Flex, Shands Hospital, Accenture (with Tiger Woods), Bridgestone (with Fred Couples), Royal Bank of Canada Heritage Golf Tournament (with Brandt Snedeker, Matt Kuchar, Jim Furyk) Lakeland Auto Mall, Florida Realtor Magazine and Larson Boats, and many others.

DSC_002221Warren is a graduate of The Maile School’s Advanced Acting Intensive program with acting instructor Lance Smith and Casting Director’s John Peros Audition workshop. Warren says, “I enjoyed the Maile School’s program very much and learned a lot to help improve my acting skills.

He wrote and proposed a medical talk show for WCEU (WDSC) TV, Channel 15, Daytona Beach, Florida, and was the host of this very successful show called, “Medical Matters Hotline”.

We wish Warren more success and can’t wait to hear about his next project.

The Maile School is offering a new and exciting program for kids & teens on Improvisation.

Did you know Improv is the art of composing, uttering, executing or arranging anything without previous preparation, in the moment. Learning Improv and Improvisational games can be a very useful tool in your acting, auditioning, and public speaking or as a means of overcoming shyness.

This special program is taught by The Maile School’s own Jim Braswell, who studied at the Sak Comedy Lab with and under Whose Line’s Wayne Brady.  Jim’s 20+ years in the Entertainment Industry includes being a member of the Disney Comedy Troupe; Streetmosphere/Citizen of Hollywood and as an Audience Warm Up for various Disney Attractions and television shows taped at Disney.

This program is creative, interactive and hands on and will cover the basics of improv, adding improv to improve your auditions, learn comedy, timing, working with partners and building self-confidence. All students will create an improv skit and perform in a live showcase in front of an audience. We will also invite a guest agent in to watch the show.

The start dates is next Saturday, March 11th from 4 pm to 6 p m.

Looking for a fun activity? The Maile School is offering a 1 day fun, active & creative workshop for kids & teens.

This hands on workshop will focus on cold reads, commercials, etiquette, table settings, everyday manners, 2 part commercials and public speaking taught by Debby Tapia.

Debby has been with The Maile School for over 25 years and has been an instrumental part of the school’s success.  She is a certified Etiquette Consultant trained at the American School of Protocol in Atlanta, Georgia.

If you are new to the industry or already a working actor this informative workshop will help. If you are looking to try something new and build confidence come and check it out. You will not be disappointed.

Our Spring Break 1 day workshop is on Wednesday, March 22nd from 10am to 1pm and held here at The Maile School.

All students perform and train on camera as well as perform in front of a live audience at the end. We invite all parents in the last 30 minutes for a review, watch the video and to see all the students perform live.

All skill levels are welcome for ages 7 to 16 years and the entire workshop focuses on acting and building self-esteem.

The Maile Image, Modeling and Acting School has been working with students and training talent since 1982. We have produced many successful graduates such as Mandy Moore from the NBC hit show This is Us, Jack Griffo from Nickelodeons The Thundermans as Max Thunderman, Norm Lewis from Broadway as Phantom in Phantom of the Opera and Stefanie Scott formally Lexi Reed on Disney’s ANT FARM, and Michael Campion as Jackson on the Netflix series Fuller House.

Star Talent: Zachary Tucker

Maile School graduate Zachary Tucker is 12 years old and home schooled. He attended many programs and workshops here at The Maile Image, Modeling & Acting School. He first started with our 1 day workshop, then enrolled into the kids on camera acting, on to our teen acting, John Peros audition workshop and Improvisation with Jim Braswell. Since this is his passion he also attended our two advanced level programs that include the monologue and scene study program and the All Star Performing Troop.

Zachary landed a variety of film roles that include Robo Dog 2, Sitter, Rifa, A Walk and I Live. His commercial, TV, print and video work includes an industrial video for The Maile School, Winter Science Spectacular at the Orlando Science Center, Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, the Orange County History Center and Ted the Trainman to name a few.

Zach’s mom Stacy Tucker says, “The Maile School is Zachary’s favorite place to go on Saturday. He enjoys the activities that are taught in class. The teachers are always bringing out the best in him. He has grown, as an actor, so much since he has started attending! His confidence is being built and he knows that when he auditions, he is giving it his all and doing what he has been taught! Maile has been awesome for Zachary.”

When Zachary has down time his hobbies are video games, legos, in which he loves to build the Titanic out of without any guide to help him, reading, going to Disney, riding his bike, watching movies and playing with his best little furry bud Leo!

We are so happy for Zachary and his industry success so far. We can’t wait to see what’s next for this talented!

Shellita-The-Maile-SchoolShellita Boxie of SMB Entertainment has been a part of the Maile School for over 12 years. Both as a student and an instructor in the Image, Modeling & On Camera Acting programs. She considers herself a peer trainer who brings “The Set Experience” to the classroom.

She has been in the entertainment industry for over 15 years working in Commercials, Films, Print, Television, Theater, Stunts, and Independent Film Castings.

Some of her impressive work include Disney, SeaWorld, Ford, Universal Studios,  Shots Fired, Baby Driver, Captain America: Civil War, Ballers, Walking Dead, Selma, and Hunger Games: Mockingjay.

She also had the opportunity to work on Tyler Perry’s films such as Madeas Big Happy Family and The Family That Preys. Shellita is a Member of the Screen Actor Guild and a 2 time Nomination for Best Stunt Ensemble. (Walking Dead and Captain America: Civil War)
She is an Orlando Mentor and was recognized as Mentor of the year on 2016.
She is also a volunteer for the SAG Foundation as a BookPal Reader and a personal trainer to some of Orlando’s most talented actors.  Shellita tells her clients, “Stay ready so you don’t have to get ready… Spiritually, Mentally and Physically.  This is a rough business but having the right mindset and the right people leading you in the right direction can make a world of difference. Have you seen Whose Line Is It Anyway or been to a Comedy show and wondered how they come up with funny things so quickly, right off the top of their heads?

It’s Improv!

Improvisation is the art of composing, uttering, executing or arranging anything without previous preparation, in the moment.

Learning Improv and Improvisational games can be a very useful tool in your acting, auditioning, public speaking or as a means of overcoming shyness.

Improv is fun!  Improv is exciting!  And improv is the subject of the next big workshop at The Maile School!

Taught by The Maile School’s own Jim Braswell, who studied at the Sak Comedy Lab with and under Whose Line’s Wayne Brady.  Jim’s 20+ years in the Entertainment Industry includes being a member of the Disney Comedy Troupe; Streetmosphere/Citizen of Hollywood and as an Audience Warm Up for various Disney Attractions and television shows taped at Disney. Victoria, who has studied teen acting with Jim, her mom says “She completed her 12 week acting program at The Maile School and has become his biggest fan. Meet Instructor Tracy Frenkel

The Maile School is happy to feature acting instructor Tracy Frenkel.

tracy-frenkelTracy grew up in Chicago and at the early age he was entertaining customers at various local restaurants as a close up table magician. He did this until he was sixteen when his family moved to Florida.

While attending high school he was involved in theater and performed in a variety of musical comedies and dinner shows. He attended the University of Florida in Gainesville majoring in theater. After a year there he relocated to Orlando and attended UCF. Tracy graduated with a theater degree and a minor in radio and television communications.

He also performed as a stand up comic then moving on to productions. Tracy relocated to Chicago after receiving a scholarship from The Second City. His film role was as a dockworker in Above the Law (1988) with Steven Segal and Pam Grier. His first speaking role in a film was as a hitman, Briggio, in David Mamet‘s film, Things Change (1988), featuring Don Ameche and Joe Mantegna. In between films in Chicago he coached and performed with several improvisational groups.

Back to Florida he landed a recurring role on the popular Nickelodeon sitcom Welcome Freshmen (1991) that ran for three seasons. He played both the male and female roles of Coach Roche and Rochelle. He booked many commercials as well as industrials. In addition he had a recurring role as a pizza parlor owner on Noah Knows Best (2000). His other resumes credits include Unsolved Mysteries, From the Earth To the Moon (1998), Safe Harbor (1999), and Keenan & Kel(1996).

Tracy has been an adult acting and improv instructor at The Maile School for many years and continues to stay busy not only as an actor but a producer, casting director and of course he is a SAG/AFTRA member.
