SKIN DEEP the Series is a dramatic web series where 7 characters’ lives quickly become intertwined when a highly publicized brutal attack is perceived as a calculated, racially motivated gay bashing, deeply dividing the city with explosive consequences.

SKIN DEEP The Series parallels some of the social challenges we currently face as a nation. Issues such as race, culture, gender identity, HIV/AIDS, Alzheimer’s, police brutality, Islamophobia and much more. The cast consists of a diverse group of professional actors including gay, straight, transgender, Muslim, Asian, Latino, Black, and White actors.

Ben is born and raised in Florida and throughout high school he excelled in sports receiving MVP awards in football, wrestling, weightlifting, and track. Upon graduation he was offered a football scholarship to Charleston Southern University. While in the midst of playing sports and training, Ben discovered he had a passion for acting. Ben attended the adult on camera acting program here at The Maile School and after completing the program he went full force into the industry. His impressive resume credits include BET’s Being Mary Jane, House of Cards, Baby Driver,  Jack Reacher: Never Go Back, Fantastic Four, Finding Carter, I’m Not Ashamed, and Troy to name a few. He now lives in Atlanta, Georgia.

mandy-moore-maile-schoolDid you know Mandy Moore took acting classes at The Maile Acting School? That’s right everybody starts somewhere.

Amanda Leigh Moore AKA Mandy Moore grew up in Seminole County and attended Bishop Moore Catholic High School in Orlando, from 1998-2002.

Mandy gained fame with her 1999 debut single titled “Candy.”  After signing with Epic Records, she released her first album, So Real that received Platinum certification. In 2000 Mandy’s single, “I Wanna Be with You“, became her first Top 30 song in the US, peaking at number 24 on the Hot 100 chart.

As of 2009, Moore has sold more than 10 million albums worldwide, according to Billboard. In 2012, Moore was ranked #96 on VH1‘s list of “100 Greatest Women in Music” (as well as #63 on their Sexiest Artists of All Time List.)

Mandy made her film debut in the 2001 comedy film Dr. Dolittle 2, although it was only a small voice role. Later that same year, she appeared as Lana Thomas in the comedy film The Princess Diaries starring Oscar winner Anne Hathaway. She had her first starring role as Jamie Sullivan in the 2002 romantic drama film A Walk to Remember, which was based on Nicholas Sparks‘ novel.  As well as other roles such as Chasing Liberty, Grey’s Anatomy, Because I Said So, License to Wed and Hotel Noir to name a few.

Mandy is well known especially with the younger generation as being the voice of Rapunzel in the 2010 animated feature in Disney’s Tangled. She will reprise her role in a 2017 television series based on the film.THIS-IS-US-maile-school

In 2016, she began starring as Rebecca Pearson in the NBC popular family comedy-drama series titled This Is Us for which she received a Golden Globe Award nomination.

This is Us follows a unique ensemble, as their paths cross and their life stories intertwine, from sharing the same birthday, to so much more than anyone would expect.

The Maile School is offering a new and exciting program for kids & teens on Improvisation.

Did you know Improv is the art of composing, uttering, executing or arranging anything without previous preparation, in the moment. Learning Improv and Improvisational games can be a very useful tool in your acting, auditioning, and public speaking or as a means of overcoming shyness.

This special program is taught by The Maile School’s own Jim Braswell, who studied at the Sak Comedy Lab with and under Whose Line’s Wayne Brady.  Jim’s 20+ years in the Entertainment Industry includes being a member of the Disney Comedy Troupe; Streetmosphere/Citizen of Hollywood and as an Audience Warm Up for various Disney Attractions and television shows taped at Disney.

This program is creative, interactive and hands on and will cover the basics of improv, adding improv to improve your auditions, learn comedy, timing, working with partners and building self-confidence. All students will create an improv skit and perform in a live showcase in front of an audience. We will also invite a guest agent in to watch the show.

The start dates is next Saturday, March 11th from 4 pm to 6 p m.

Looking for a fun activity? The Maile School is offering a 1 day fun, active & creative workshop for kids & teens.

This hands on workshop will focus on cold reads, commercials, etiquette, table settings, everyday manners, 2 part commercials and public speaking taught by Debby Tapia.

Debby has been with The Maile School for over 25 years and has been an instrumental part of the school’s success.  She is a certified Etiquette Consultant trained at the American School of Protocol in Atlanta, Georgia.

If you are new to the industry or already a working actor this informative workshop will help. If you are looking to try something new and build confidence come and check it out. You will not be disappointed.

Our Spring Break 1 day workshop is on Wednesday, March 22nd from 10am to 1pm and held here at The Maile School.

All students perform and train on camera as well as perform in front of a live audience at the end. We invite all parents in the last 30 minutes for a review, watch the video and to see all the students perform live.

All skill levels are welcome for ages 7 to 16 years and the entire workshop focuses on acting and building self-esteem.

The Maile Image, Modeling and Acting School has been working with students and training talent since 1982. Star Talent: Zachary Tucker

Maile School graduate Zachary Tucker is 12 years old and home schooled. He attended many programs and workshops here at The Maile Image, Modeling & Acting School. He first started with our 1 day workshop, then enrolled into the kids on camera acting, on to our teen acting, John Peros audition workshop and Improvisation with Jim Braswell. Since this is his passion he also attended our two advanced level programs that include the monologue and scene study program and the All Star Performing Troop.

Zachary landed a variety of film roles that include Robo Dog 2, Sitter, Rifa, A Walk and I Live. His commercial, TV, print and video work includes an industrial video for The Maile School, Winter Science Spectacular at the Orlando Science Center, Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, the Orange County History Center and Ted the Trainman to name a few.

Zach’s mom Stacy Tucker says, “The Maile School is Zachary’s favorite place to go on Saturday. He enjoys the activities that are taught in class. The teachers are always bringing out the best in him. He has grown, as an actor, so much since he has started attending! His confidence is being built and he knows that when he auditions, he is giving it his all and doing what he has been taught! Maile has been awesome for Zachary.”

When Zachary has down time his hobbies are video games, legos, in which he loves to build the Titanic out of without any guide to help him, reading, going to Disney, riding his bike, watching movies and playing with his best little furry bud Leo!

We are so happy for Zachary and his industry success so far. We can’t wait to see what’s next for this talented!

Shellita-The-Maile-SchoolShellita Boxie of SMB Entertainment has been a part of the Maile School for over 12 years. Both as a student and an instructor in the Image, Modeling & On Camera Acting programs. She considers herself a peer trainer who brings “The Set Experience” to the classroom.

She has been in the entertainment industry for over 15 years working in Commercials, Films, Print, Television, Theater, Stunts, and Independent Film Castings.

Some of her impressive work include Disney, SeaWorld, Ford, Universal Studios,  Shots Fired, Baby Driver, Captain America: Civil War, Ballers, Walking Dead, Selma, and Hunger Games: Mockingjay.

She also had the opportunity to work on Tyler Perry’s films such as Madeas Big Happy Family and The Family That Preys. Shellita is a Member of the Screen Actor Guild and a 2 time Nomination for Best Stunt Ensemble. (Walking Dead and Captain America: Civil War)
She is an Orlando Mentor and was recognized as Mentor of the year on 2016.
She is also a volunteer for the SAG Foundation as a BookPal Reader and a personal trainer to some of Orlando’s most talented actors.  Shellita tells her clients, “Stay ready so you don’t have to get ready… Spiritually, Mentally and Physically.  This is a rough business but having the right mindset and the right people leading you in the right direction can make a world of difference. Maile School Star Talent Greg Davis Jr.

greg-the-maile-schoolMaile School acting graduate Greg Davis Jr. was born and raised in Orlando, Florida. He attended the on camera acting program here at The Maile School and began working immediately after finishing. He booked work on set at Nickelodeon’s popular show Gullah Gullah Island.  Greg graduated from Dr. Phillips High School but a week before his graduation he almost died in an attempted carjacking.  Since then he cites in faith in Jesus Christ to be the most important thing in his life.

Greg who now lives in Los Angeles and does quite a bit of traveling for roles has built quite an impressive resume. He played the role of music executive LA Reid in Lifetime’s TV movie titled Toni Braxton: Unbreak My Heart, the feature film Beyond The Lights as Officer Aforo, the TV show Espionage as Sebastian Young, Joseph in the film King of California that starred Michael Douglas, as well as a comedy improvisation series on the TBS television network titled 10 Items or Less to name a few.

Greg’s newest film is titled The Eyes and he is playing the role of Robby. The Eyes is about 6 strangers who are kidnapped and through governmental technology have proof they have all killed before and are told 5 will die this night, one may walk, and the six have 2 hours to decide who gets to live. The Eyes star Nicholas TurturroVincent PastoreMegan West . The Eyes will be out this April.

Greg who also goes by the name Klarity has worked with the popular funny man comedian Kevin Hart on promotional videos.

Greg’s mom Carol Davis is also a Maile School acting and advanced acting graduate.

ADELE SPAGNOLO

Adele-s-the-maile-school Maile School Image, Modeling & Acting Graduate Adele Spagnolo is an aspiring actor and model.

She started her career in 2011 at the age of 11 years when her mom Patty enrolled her in the Image and Confidence Development program because Adele wanted to try modeling. Her mom thought the Image program would be the best one to start with to help build her confidence and communication skills. Upon completion she continued on into the Teen Modeling Program here at our school as well as the Summer Fashion Camp held at The Mall at Millenia and then on the different levels of acting programs here at The Maile School.

Some of her industry bookings include work for Bloomingdales, Macys, JCP, Orlando Science Center, Styles for Less, Rue 21, Francesca’s Closet, Buckle, Clinique, Urban Decay cosmetics and Mall at Millenia.

Adele is now 17 years old, in 11th grade and is home schooled. She plans to graduate 6 months early. She enjoys fashion, make up artistry, special effects make up, knitting, and sewing. Adele says, “I really wanted to be a model but after taking the various acting programs I found a love for acting but I will do it all”.

The Maile School was so impressed with Adele and asked her to apply for our Internship Program for volunteer hours. Of course we hired her and now 3 years later she is still part of the team.

Adele wants to stay involved and in this business booking jobs and plans to attend Joe Blasco Makeup Center. After that she plans to go to the University of Central Florida and study Business. With her Business degree and wants to open up her own salon. Adele is the daughter of Patty and Rosario from Maitland.

Did you know Michael Campion attended acting classes at The Maile School?michael-maile-school

Kids acting grad Michael Campion plays to role of Jackson, (DJ’s oldest son) on the popular Netflix series Fuller House starring Candace Cameron Bure. We are so happy that Fuller House was picked up for Season 2 and premiered this past December.

His path to land the role of Jackson was detailed. First, he sent a video audition to LA since he lives in Orlando. He didn’t know what he was auditioning for and they would use code names. After sending in a video once a week for 5 weeks they finally flew him to LA and he was then told it was for Fuller House.

Michael says, “I was a huge Full House fan and cried when I was told I booked the role. It was a magical experience and the next day I started filming.”

fuller-house-dvdMichael’s other industry credits include Finding Eden (2017), Christmas Trade (2015), with Billy Baldwin (aka William Baldwin), Tom Arnold and Denise Richards. He also starred in the feature films, Robo-Dog (2015) that was filmed right here in Central Florida and also starred other Maile School grads as well as Robo-Dog: Airborne (2017). He has been featured in many local and national commercials. Michael enjoys live theater productions and has performed lead roles with Magic Curtain Productions in “The Wizard of Oz”, “Annie” and “The Little Mermaid”, just to name a few.

Michael is 14 years old and lives is Florida with his parents. When he isn’t auditioning or working on set he enjoys Star Wars movies, building his own computer and playing video games.

STAR TALENT: DEBBIE SEIBER

Debbie-seiber-the-maile-schoolCharismatic, funny and energetic is what you will find when meeting Debbie  Seiber. She is a native to the Orlando area, growing up in the little town of Windermere and graduated from West Orange High School. Her love for acting started at an early age, where throughout the years, she did small acting jobs here and there. Debbie ventured into the business world, but never lost her dream for becoming a full time actress one day.

In 2006, Debbie decided to enroll in the adult acting on camera acting and advanced improv programs here at The Maile Image, Modeling & Acting School. Debbie says, “That foundation started my journey, and it was the best experience for preparing me for the acting world.”

Debbie recently was cast as, Pastor Hutchins, in an edgy faith-based film shot here in Central Florida titled the Turnaround. The Turnaround also featured other Maile School acting graduates.

She studied at IFREC School of Real Estate and is a realtor at Keller Williams Realtor, Inc. This allows her to have a flexible schedule and she is able to free herself for auditions and bookings.  She loves selling real estate and helping others achieve the home ownership dream. She was voted as one of the top 2% of realtors in customer service and satisfaction in 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012. Her professional talents include marketing, business and management, as well as training.

Debbie says, “DREAM and DREAM BIG. Nothing is impossible when you start taking steps toward your dreams.”

 We are so happy for Debbie and wish her continued industry success in 2017.
