Tony Robinette

Hey everybody be sure to watch and support Maile School’s acting and advanced acting graduate Tony Robinette on ABC’s hit show Fresh Off The Boat this Tuesday, December 13th at 9pm.

Tony is an actor and has been in the industry for over 15 years. He made the big move to Los Angeles California a few years ago and has not stopped. He has done very well for himself working, auditioning and building a very impressive resume.

Tony is has landed roles in How I Met Your Mother (2013), starring Neil Patrick Harris, the feature film Spring Breakers (2012), that starred James Franco, Vanessa Hudgens and Selena Gomez, Robo-Dog (2015), as the role of Jerome that was filmed right here in Central Florida and most recently in the comedy The Best Thanksgiving Ever (2016).

His other industry credits include All State Insurance, Wendys, Universal Studios, Hungry Howies, Honda, Aflac, a Disney pilot titled Growing Up and Down starring Raina Rodrigues from Austin and Ally to name a few.

Have you seen Whose Line Is It Anyway or been to a Comedy show and wondered how they come up with funny things so quickly, right off the top of their heads?

It’s Improv!

Improvisation is the art of composing, uttering, executing or arranging anything without previous preparation, in the moment.

Learning Improv and Improvisational games can be a very useful tool in your acting, auditioning, public speaking or as a means of overcoming shyness.

Improv is fun! Improv is exciting! And improv is the subject of the next big workshop at the Maile School!

Taught by the Maile School’s own Jim Braswell, who studied at the Sak Comedy Lab with and under Whose Line’s Wayne Brady. Star Talent at The Maile School

Influential, motivating, magnetic personality, brilliant smile with a various appetite for his craft. That’s how we describe Maile School’s adult acting graduate Bryan Dawson Brown. This Floridian is home grown and proud of it. Bryan graduated from Florida A & M University with a degree in Broadcast Journalism. It was at FAMU that he was smitten with the acting bug. Although his course work permitted him to view the world from all camera angles, his heart is in the front of the camera and the camera certainly loves his face. After graduating from college Bryan decided to enroll and attend classes here at The Maile School to hone his skills and upon completing the program he went full force into the business.

Some of his career accomplishments and bookings on his resume are feature films, short films, music videos, web series as well as national and local commercials. He has landed work for clients such as Tires Plus, Florida Lottery, Disney, ChallengeMyRate.com, Shipsticks, Brighthouse, Trojan, Nissan, and Insight Credit Union to name a few.

Bryan enjoys golfing, running, basketball, baseball and football as well as volunteering for Younglife non-profit organization.

Bryan’s future goals are to relocate to the Atlanta area so he can further sharpen and pursue his acting career goals and book jobs in all facets of the industry.

Man Down Justin Smith

Man Down Justin Smith

Former Maile School acting instructor and professional modeling and acting grad Justin Smith is an actor, known for his role on ABC’s hit soap General Hospital as Holt and the feature film Man Down as Stanton. Man Down will premier in theaters December 2nd.

Maile School’s President Debbie Wisner says, “Justin was great to have here on our staff. First as a student then as an instructor. He gave a lot to all the students and he just had that ‘it’ factor. We all knew it was a matter of time.”

Man Down takes place in post-apocalyptic North America, former U.S. Marine Gabriel Drummer (Shia LaBeouf), searches desperately for the whereabouts of his son, Jonathan, and wife, Natalie (Kate Mara), accompanied by his best friend (Jai Courtney) and a survivor (Clifton Collins, Jr.). Justin landed a lead role the film Silent Fall (2007) where he traveled all the way to Cape Town, South Africa where he spent four months filming throughout Cape Town, and also gained some much appreciated life experience. After returning from South Africa, Justin found himself in New York where he was cast in his first major television role on the CBS soap opera, As The World Turns. This led to other roles on television such as Army Wives (2007), Burn Notice (2007) and The CW’s The Vampire Diaries (2009). He also landed film work in A Good Day to Die Hard (2013) starring Bruce Willis, and the comedy Walk of Shame (2014). Justin was also a host and a popular face on the syndicated morning news and entertainment show The Daily Buzz.

Talent Show & Fall / Winter Fashion Show 2016

Are you looking for something fun to do that’s free? Then come out to The West Oaks Mall on Saturday, November 19th at 1pm sharp to see The Maile School’s 12th Annual Talent Showcase and Fall / Winter Fashion Show. To kick off the show we have we have a sneak peek from JC Penney’s newest fashions for the season. All of the models are graduates from The Maile Image, Modeling & Acting School.

You will be impressed with the talented performers singing in the talent show ranging from age 6 to 17 years. All contestants have 90 seconds to sing and will perform in front of a live audience and for a panel of judges that include top casting Director John Peros, Actor and Maile School instructor and vocal coach Jim Braswell, and owners of the SAG talent agency Clark Talent Nancy and John Clark.

The show also has a special performance by Autumn Rae. She is an 11 year old triple threat. She’s performed live for over 70,000 people at Fundraisers such as Making Strides and many local venues including Maile School’s fashion shows, and was the winner of the our Talent Showcase 2 years ago as well as Orlando Magic, Orlando City Soccer, Weddings, and Festival. She is extremely devoted to serving her community. She has booked several commercials, feature films, and shorts. Autumn Rae is an award winning dancer and singer. She has been writing and recording originals since age 5. She recently released her new single and Music Video titled “I Wish I Could Fly“, which you can purchase on ITunes and CDBABY. You can find her on several social media sites including Youtube, Twitter and Instagram @autumnraeshannon.

The 2 winners will receive a full tuition acting scholarship to the Maile School, signing with The Clark Talent Agency and a future live show performance!

STAR TALENT AT THE MAILE SCHOOL

The Maile Image, Modeling & Acting School is always happy to brag about our students and graduates booking jobs in the business.

Benjamin Mainville recently graduated from The Maile School’s Professional Modeling program this past August. He never considered modeling until meeting local models on film sets. These models helped give him the push needed and Benjamin became one of our students this past summer. Since graduating he has walked the runway at the Seminole Town Center’s Back to School fashion show, modeled unique costumes for Orlando Vintage Clothing & Costume’s upcoming campaign, and personally worked with The Stig (from Top Gear) at this year’s AIMExpo for Simpson Performance Products. He has also participated in a secret project with some other Maile School professionals which he looks forward to sharing once released!

The client for Simpson Performance Products was so impressed with Ben’s professionalism said, “Ben was fantastic he went well beyond a warm body in the suits and played the character well. We were very pleased and would book him again”.

When not working on his newly found modeling career, Benjamin is a hotelier by trade. Additionally, he works with local filmmakers (both on screen and behind the scenes) and is also an author. He has currently released three short-stories and has additional projects being revealed soon.

We look forward to seeing how our program has shaped Benjamin’s future.

Justin Smith in Man Down

Congrats to advanced acting and modeling graduate Justin Smith. He began work this past December as Corporal Stanton in the psychological thriller titled Man Down directed by Dito Montiel and starring Shia LaBeouf and Gary Oldman. The film follows a haunted Afghanistan war veteran who attempts to come to terms with his past while searching for his family in a post-apocalyptic America..

Justin also worked on the set of The Exes starring Donald Faison and Wayne Knight that aired on TV Land a few weeks ago. Justin has built up quite a resume working on the feature films Baby, Baby, Baby with Brian Klugman and Kelsey Grammer, Walk of Shame, A Good Day to Die Hard as well as the TV mini-series How to Break Up with Your Girlfriend Before Football Season. Be sure to see Justin in theatres next year in Man Down.

Have you seen the hilarious laughing dolphin commercial for SeaWorld? If so, that would be Maile School acting graduate and instructor Shellita Boxie. The commercial titled “Mom Speaks Dolphin” is currently airing and you can also check it out below.

Shellita is a SAG stunt actress and has doubled for some of Hollywood’s leading ladies in films such as Why did I Get Married Two, Medea’s Big Happy Family, and TV shows for Single Ladies, The Middle, and The Young and the Restless. Her commercial credits include Publix, SeaWorld, Lunchables, & Derek Jeter Ford Edge to name a few. Shellita earned her BA Degree in Communications from UCF.

Maile Grad Aubrey Peeples Update!

Update on acting graduate and performing troop member Aubrey Peeples

If you are a Nashville fan then you know Aubrey plays the role of Layla Grant on the ABC smash hit. Wendy, Aubrey’s mom says, “Stayed tuned the Nashville season finale it should be pretty exciting”! Aubrey had her Opry debut (as Aubrey, not Layla) this past February. You can go to: http://www.wsmonline.com/watch-listen/opry/?ccm_paging_p=2 and listen to her live performance on the archive on 2/8/2014 (it’s about half way through the show). They are trying to work out with her schedule to have another appearance in the near future. She recorded with the rest of the Nashville cast a live music special at the Ryman Theatre that will air on ABC on April 23rd. Be on the look out for the release date for her movie she did with Nicholas Cage titled Tokarev. More updates are coming soon on Aubrey! She has some exciting things happening and we should have some information to release in the very near future.
