Meet Adam Alexander…

Meet Adam Alexander

Adam was born in Manassas, Virginia. While living in Chicago at 5 years old, Adam auditioned for and was the second choice for the part of “Danny” in the movie The Shining.

Adam is very busy in the business and has worked for years on stage (Equity), television shows (SAG-AFTRA), feature films (SAG), straight to television movies (SAG-AFTRA), commercials (SAG), industrial training videos (SAG) and on and on.  Some of his resume work includes Bloodline, Ballers, Shots Fired, Homeland, Charlie’s Angels, and The Glades to name a few.

Adam is a popular voice on the radio as he is a producer of the hit morning show, “The Morning MIX with Jay, Dana and Adam” on Orlando’s MIX 105.1.

He is currently playing the role of Officer Jim Tuttle on season two (2017) of Cinemax’s thriller titled “Outcast” in which he is in episodes 1, 2, 5, 7, 8, and 10.

Adam is a long term Board member for SAG-AFTRA. He is married and has 2 daughters. He is super busy and still finds the time to teach here at The Maile School in our adult acting programs.

Adam is a lover of life that refuses to leave anything in the tank when he is done.

Meet Maile School Instructor: Diana Lovell

Meet Maile School Instructor:
Diana Lovell

Diana Lovell started her acting and entertainment career at an early age. Working in all aspects on the business that include Theatre, TV, Voice Over, Singing, and Commercials.

Diana has built a solid resume over the years and is working with some of the industry’s top professionals. Her recent work include; TvOne’s ‘DOWNSIZED’, starring Nicole Ari Parker and Boris Kodjoe, CBS series ‘The Inspectors’, CBS series ‘RECKLESS’ abd the film The Breaking Point.  She landed commercial spots as well as National Campaigns for Television and Print Media for clients such as  Bahamas, Atlantis Resorts, Carnival, Disney, NCL, State Farm, Bealls, Eyeglass World, Universal Studios, Wet and Wild, State Farm, and more.

Diana brings her beauty and talents to The Maile School teaching in our kid and teen programs. She also is offering professional audition taping services here at The Maile School.

The Maile School: Jack Griffo

Nickelodeon Star at The Maile School


Meet & Train with Maile School teen acting graduate Jack Griffo AKA Max Thurman from Nickelodeons popular series The Thundermans.

Jack is mostly recognized as Max from The Thundermans. The superhero live action comedy. Jack was nominated for ‘Favorite Actor’ at the ‘Nickelodeon Kids Choice Award’ in 2014 and 2016. The show also won ‘Favorite TV Show’ in 2016 and continues to be a huge hit.

He also did industry work for NCIS, Sharknado 3 and Nickelodeon original movies Jinxed and Splitting Adam.  Jack now can be seen as a recurring character in the Netflix comedy titled Alexa and Katie as Dylan.

The Maile Acting School is happy to have Jack here at the school this July teaching two scene study workshops.

All students will be coached and directed by Jack one on one. The workshops will cover auditioning, performing Thunderman scenes and character development.

Parents return the last part of the workshop to see all the students perform live and Jack’s mom Terry Griffo will be here to have a special question & answer session for all the parents followed by pictures, selfies and autographs.

Summer Camps at The Maile School

The Maile School

The Maile Image, Modeling & Acting School offers a variety of summer camps.

All of the camps at The Maile School are hands on and focus on confidence and self-esteem building. There are many to choose from and we have camps for all ages starting at the age of 4.

The On Camera Acting camp trains in a variety of techniques such as commercials, TV, slating, improv, character development, auditioning and interviewing. All students work on camera. We break our age groups up 4 to 6 years, 7 to10 years and 11 to 17 years.

The Image & Confidence camp is all about life skills and self-development. This covers skin care, make up, hair care, posture, beginning runway, etiquette, public speaking, communication skills, interviewing and body language. Girls only ages 11 to 18 years.

Our Modeling camp prepares students for all types of modeling including runway, informal, photo posing, TV, commercials and auditioning. All students experience a professional shoot and walk the catwalk and model in our back to school fashion show at the mall.  A combination class for kids & teens.

Mall at Millenia fashion camp is held exclusively at The Mall at Millenia. All students train in modeling and lean about the industry. Covering runway, fashion shows, TV modeling, and etiquette. All students experience a professional photo shoot and walk the runway in a real fashion show at Macys. Two different age groups 6 to 12 years and 13 to 18 years.

All industry programs include our Professional Industry Seminar for all parents on breaking into the business. This covers headshots, resumes, getting an agent, contracts.

Maile School STAR Grad: Rico Sita

 Maile grad Rico Sita is a Designer, Builder, Stand-up Comedian, Actor, Baseball Coach, Husband and Father. If that weren’t enough to do at the same time, he added a new title…Game Show Contestant.

 That’s right… he made it on to the ABC popular show Wheel Of Fortune. He did extremely well walking away with over $8500. Not bad for 20 minutes.

Rico worked in the family business of construction and after much success the economy tanked and people began to panic. But not Rico, he said “I did what most people would do…I became a comedian (it’s cheaper than going to therapy or happy hour). After experiencing this unexplainable feeling of performing I knew I was meant to do more than what I was doing. I was in construction for over 20 years and my soul wanted more. I was approached by producers who wanted me to host a construction reality show on a cable network because of the ability to do stand-up. I thought it was the answer, but they wanted to suppress the comedic side. That wasn’t gonna happen so with some good advice from people around me I created my own show on youtube.”

 A Hollywood producer told Rico to take acting classes so he can learn to be better.

He loves hard work, challenges and he needed to see if this is where he really needs

to be. Fast forward to 2017, Rico enrolled in the adult on camera acting program here at The Maile School and then in the advanced program.

Rico says, “The incredible staff (of working actors) embraced us and passionately taught us what they knew. It gave me the drive and the tools to go after it. Within a few months of graduating I have completed 3 independent short films (2 serious roles and one comedic), a 30 minute independent comedy pilot, a commercial for Realtor.com and oh, that little game show with Pat Sajak!”

Meet Maile School Star Grad: Doreen Ratigan

Doreen Ratigan

Doreen first discovered the Maile School when her daughter, Anise, took the Kids Acting program back in 2004. She said she was very impressed with the organization and professionalism of The Maile School, and the opportunities offered to students, both young and adult.

Doreen is preparing to retire from 35 years of public school teaching and has decided to launch her 2nd career as a print model and commercial film actor.  She has a strong background in theater, music and dance and always enjoyed performing on stage.

Doreen says, “The perfect preparation for me was to register at The Maile School in the Adult On Camera Acting program. This program gave me everything I needed to build my audition skills and self-confidence in commercial acting. We had the opportunity to learn from successful working actors, meet local talent agents, and casting directors. An additional bonus was meeting an amazing group of fellow actors who will become my friends and colleges for years to come!  I met and signed with a talent agent at one of the many free seminar offered to Maile students and graduate”.

Doreen is proud to say she is a working actor. She booked an extra part along with her daughter Anise a hip hop music video, produced by former Maile School graduate and pop singer, Alexis Kritsky. The song is titled “Cross the Line”. She was interviewed on WKMG Local 6, about the video and the mission to end bullying in schools.

She can be seen in promotional brochures and videos for Sun Communities, Inc. an international company owning over 600 retirement properties in the United States. She also landed TV work for the Home Shopping Network (HSN) as a cosmetics product model.

Doreen says, “This is only the beginning of a wonderful new adventurous career! Thanks to the Maile School staff and teachers’ training and guidance, I know I am on the road to success!”

The Maile School is happy to be business partners with Macys producing many fashion shows and events together.

If you happened to be shopping this past Saturday and you were at the Florida Mall hopefully you saw Maile School models modeling in a fashion show showcasing the latest trends for the season. Many looks from designers such as INC, DKNY, Guess, Adidas, Vince Camuto, Calvin Klein, LACOSTE and many more.

Our Modeling program prepares students for all types of modeling including runway, informal, photo posing, TV, commercials and auditioning. All students experience a professional shoot and walk the catwalk and model in a fashion show for Macys.  We also assist with getting an agent, creating your resume, booking jobs, castings, explaining business protocol and helping you avoid scams.  Plus so much more.

Meet Maile School Star Grad: Ashley Song

Maile School Star Grad:
Ashley Song

Maile School graduate Ashley Song is pursuing the industry full force. She is a graduate of our Adult on Camera Acting Program and is currently enrolled and attending our Advanced Intensive Acting Program with instructor Lance Smith.

Ashley wanted to take training here at our school to further her career in commercials, film and television as well as make contacts and build her resume. She has studied theater and has been in many productions and musicals such as RENT, Phantom of the Opera, and Cinderella to name a few.

Ashley is currently auditioning and her most recent projects include a commercial with Universal Studios and a feature in a short film titled The Revival.

Aside from her love for acting, Ashley is a devoted wife and mother of three boys.  In her spare time she enjoys family trips to the North Georgia cabins and, as the Florida girl that she is, of course the beach.

Ashley also enjoys honing her skills in fitness, singing, salsa and merengue dancing, and clothing design.

In the future, (this summer) Ashley looks forward to relocating to Atlanta, Georgia to continue pursuing the film and television market there.

Ashley says, “The Maile School does not only teach you how to be a phenomenal actor, their curriculum and instructors empowers you to become anything far beyond what you could ever dream or imagine.”

The Maile School

The Maile Acting School offers a special program for 4 – 6 years old that is geared towards non-readers.

Did you know the market here in Central Florida starts at the age of four years?

This program is not only great for preparing your child to work in the industry, but also good for those wanting to develop confidence and beginning communication skills.

This programs is offered on Saturdays from 10:15am to 12:15pm. Covering slating, age appropriate commercials, memorizing, improvisation, creative acting games, performing on camera, working with props, 2 part commercials and interviewing skills. All students film their final audition of their 2 commercials and interview that is emailed to you.

In this program all parents are invited in the last part of each session to go into the classroom to see all student performances on camera and get a critique from the instructor.

Also included for all parents is our Professional Industry Seminar for those wanting to break into the industry covering agents, headshots, casting directors, resumes, booking jobs, how to avoid being taken advantage of and so much more.

Maile School Grad Norm Lewis last night on NBC

Did you see Maile School Grad Norm Lewis last night on NBC?

Congratulations to Maile School Acting Grad Norm Lewis. He played the role of Caiaphas in the NBC production of Jesus Christ Superstar Live that aired last night April 1st. Norm starred alongside John Legend and Sara Bareilles to name a few.

Many of you know that Norm is from Orlando Florida. He grew up in Eatonville and graduated from Edgewater High School. He attended our adult on camera acting program here at The Maile Acting School.

Norm is a Tony-nominated actor and made his Broadway debut in 1993 in The Who’s Tommy and went on to star in shows such as Miss Saigon, Side Show, Chicago, Les Misérables, The Little Mermaid, Porgy and Bess, and Sweeney Todd. Norm also had the lead role as Phantom in Andrew Lloyd Webber Phantom of the Opera.

On television, you may have seen Norm play alongside Kerry Washington AKA Olivia Pope as her fiancée in the role of Senator Edison Davis on ABC’s hit series Scandal. He was also on the VH1 show Daytime Divas playing the boyfriend of Vanessa Williams.
