Maile School Star Talent: Bernita Harris

Maile School acting graduate Bernita Harris worked for Orange County Public Schools for 18 years as a staffing specialist and working in the classroom with students. Then last year she decided it was time for a cha nge.
A career change happened. Bernita has landed roles in Tyler Perry’s The Haves and The Have Nots and BET hit show The Quad both in which are filmed in Atlanta. As well as Daytime Divas and Greenleaf playing the role of a church staff member.

Not bad for booking all this in a year and now her resume is very impressive. She graduated from Bethune Cookman College with a degree in Political Science and has a Masters from Nova University. She worked in the school system with middle and high schools helping students with disabilities.

Bernita says, “I absolutely love it here at The Maile School. I don’t want to be popular I want to be purposeful. The Maile School brought out the best in me.” Bernita attended the adult on camera acting program as well as the John Peros Casting workshop here at The Maile School.

Be on the look out for Bernita this season on The Haves and the Have Nots. This is an American prime time television soap opera created, executive produced, written, and directed by Tyler Perry. Season five will premiere June 20th.

We are so excited for Bernita and wishing her more industry success.
